Laurence is a British-born, US-based real estate investor, author, accomplished businessman and philanthropist. He has had a distinguished career of serving top-performing hospitality companies such as Hyatt Development Corporation, Holiday Inns, and Grand Metropolitan Hotels in senior leadership positions , was founder and chief executive of Strategic Hotels and Resorts (NYSE:BEE) the leading owner of luxury hotels in North America and Europe. In 2013, he founded Geller Capital Partners and in 2015, alongside his son Guy, founded Innovative Aged Care which, in 2016, opened its first high-end dementia care home in London, Chelsea Court Place. In 2011, Laurence was appointed chancellor of the University of West London, where he is currently leading the expansion programme in Dementia Care at the University's college of nursing, midwifery and healthcare and funded their master degree in dementia care nursing and co-founded their Innovation & Entrepreneurial Hub. Laurence co-chaired the Alzheimer’s Society Appeal Board, which aims to raise £100 million each year to fund ongoing research and in 2017 was appointed the society’s global business ambassador. Furthermore, Laurence was named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
